One of my favourite things about wedding photography is capturing the quiet moments of the day. Sometimes they are happening in the loudest, craziest and most amazing locations. And it’s easy to miss them because they don’t happen for long. They’re a fleeting moment in time.
What I like to do is take a moment to myself, at different parts of the day, to simply observe everything. I’m so humbled and thankful that I get to be the photographer that my couple have chosen to capture the memories of the day when everything changed. The day they said the magic words and locked each other in for life.
Being a wedding photographer is an absolute honour
As a photographer, there is no higher honour than wedding photography. The wedding day is gone in a flash and it’s sometimes hard for a couple to keep up with everything going on around them on their big day. So when my couples hire me to bring my wedding photography skills to the table, they know I’m not only there to capture the big moments, but I seek out the little, quiet and more often than not overlooked moments that are happening. All these small moments are what come together to make a wedding day shine.
These images are some of my favourite quiet moments that you simply cannot stage. Grandparents watch their Grandson or Granddaughter say their vows. A proud Dad who just wants to take a sneaky photo of his little girl putting on her shoes before she leaves the family home (you know who you are!).
All these moments add up to create the most amazing and heart explodingly exciting days of your life.
