Planning a wedding is stressful for both partners. The pressure of pulling off your dream day can feel like a nightmare, but there are six steps you take to make the whole thing less stressful and more enjoyable!
If the plan includes everything from what you’ll be wearing to the cake, you will know what is coming up next on your wedding planning journey. Having a solid plan in writing helps reduce your stress, which is especially important when you are planning your wedding. If you need a great place to start planning your amazing wedding day, make sure to grab your free copy of my Wedding Planning Guide For Loved-up Legends.
The wedding favours (bonbonniere), music, and speeches are all important parts of the wedding. However, they may be things that you can delegate to others. 2020 and 2021 have all been about outsourcing, so when you delegate the lower priority tasks to your trusted gang, you can focus on fun, important activities like the wedding ceremony, the playlists, the decor and all the finer details that make up your perfect day.
There are so many great reasons to have your ceremony in the late afternoon. For one, the late afternoon sunlight makes the event that much more beautiful. It also makes for an easier time for guests who might be uncomfortable in the summer heat. But it also gives you a much more relaxed start to the day. Lay in bed late! Go for a massage! Have a bridal party brunch! Whatever you need to make yourself feel comfortable. The wedding day is such a huge day emotionally, as well as physically, so rest up!
Having a rehearsal gives you a chance to discuss your options with the venue manager, wedding planner, photographer and celebrant who will be able to advise you on which rooms to utilize and which to avoid. It allows you to get advice from your A-Team of professional wedding vendors, which will give you confidence when making decisions. Rehearsals also give you a chance to see how everything will look before the big day so you can make adjustments if necessary.
When your amazing celebrant has sent through the final draft of your vows, by practising them a few times, you’ll increase your confidence with the wording and help you work through any anxiety you might be suffering from and allow you to fine-tune the vibe of your vows. And ya know what? If you are still suffering from anxiety about speaking some beautiful words in front of all your nearest and dearest, you can always turn off the mics and just keep your vows private. A little secret between the two of you.
As your wedding day approaches, you’ll be bombarded with all kinds of advice from family and friends. Don’t worry. Every single one of these people is trying to help. But there’s one piece of advice that sticks out above all others. It’s one that you should never ignore: Relax. I know, easier said than done. But if you take one thing away from this post, remember to enjoy yourself. Expecting the unexpected is always a great tip, but ya know what? Remember that newsreel of the wedding recently where the pyrotechnics set fire to the whole reception venue? That’s a wedding that will never be forgotten! All this to say, if something doesn’t work out the way you both envisioned it, it’s still okay! You’re finally married and ready to start the next chapter in your amazing story together.
I hope this article has given you some great ideas on how to manage your stress leading up to the big day. You deserve a wedding that is fun and unique, so don’t let lack of planning get in the way! If you have any questions about these tips or want more information about other ways we can help make your event go smoothly, contact me and let’s grab for coffee if you need any further assistance with your wedding; I’m always happy to help wherever possible (including advice on finding vendors). Don’t forget – every couple deserves their perfect day!
