The day began as most of my weddings do with a little bit of Groom prep with his boys. When I arrived at the house the boys were already mostly dressed and just putting the finishing touches on Liam’s suit. I could quickly tell that these guys were very close, and I could also see that none of the Groomsmen would rather be anywhere else in the world. Michael was also bloody stoked and ready for the day to marry his Bride.
It took me all of about 30 seconds to realise that this was going to be a special day for everyone involved. We had a lot of fun getting the boys ready and taking pictures, but I think it is safe to say that we all enjoyed ourselves throughout the entire day.
When I arrived at the Vue Apartments to capture Simone and her Bridesmaids getting all dolled up, I was met with a beautiful bunch of girls who were just beaming with excitement to see Simone get hitched later in the day. The girls were a pleasure to photograph and it was so fun watching them get all done up and get into their dresses. The girls all looked amazing and Simone was just glowing as she got ready. I then headed to the wedding venue where Michael and his Boys were doing some last-minute zooshing of the suits and boutonnieres and then it was time for the Bride to walk the aisle!
The ceremony started promptly at 4 pm sharp with Celebrant, Donna Noakes at the helm. The ceremony was held on the lawn in the gardens of the Batesford Hotel in stifling 30-degree sunshine. The occasional cloud was a much-welcomed reprieve for everyone who couldn’t sit in the shade!
After the ceremony, we nailed a bunch of family groups, then it was time to have some fun with the wedding party. Don’t they look amazing?!
The wedding reception was held in the gorgeous and light-filled Barwon Room of the Batesford Hotel, with a backdrop of the beautiful gardens where the ceremony was held. Michael delivered a “moving” speech and then it was time to cut the cake!! I loved watching this special moment as Michael looked on lovingly at his gorgeous Bride, who was surrounded by her family and friends. They say that the best things in life are free and that is certainly true for this gorgeous couple. Congrats again to Michael and his beautiful wife Simone!
I would like to thank Simone & Michael for allowing me to be a part of their wedding day, for being so lovely to work with and for trusting me to capture such an important day in their life. I really had so much fun working on this wedding, it was a pleasure!
