An easy evening with natural light, big skies and real connection
The Pilgrim family session at Dog Rocks was one of those evenings where everything just clicked. The light, the mood, the energy. It all came together in that easy, honest way that makes for great photos.

The Location
Dog Rocks is a little rugged and a little wild, which suited this family perfectly. Big open skies, warm evening light, and plenty of space for the kids to move without feeling watched.
The boulders gave us natural spots to sit, lean and climb. The surrounding paddocks caught the light just right. It’s one of those places that feels open without being empty.

The Vibe
This wasn’t about perfect smiles or standing still. The Pilgrim family wanted something relaxed and real. There was climbing, tickling, picking up rocks, and the usual back-and-forth over snacks.
The kids were free to move. That meant the photos felt like them. Playful. Affectionate. A little bit messy in the best way.

What Made it Work
They dressed simply and comfortably. Soft tones. Layers that moved easily. Nothing too polished or precious. It kept the focus on their connection instead of their outfits.

They showed up ready to be present, trusted the process, and gave each other space to just enjoy the moment. That always comes through in the images.
Favourite Moments
The way the youngest held onto Dad’s arm as we were moving around the location. A quiet hug between Mum and her eldest while no one else was watching. The way the sunset softened everything just as we finished.
Those small in-between moments are always the ones that stick.

Family Photography That Feels Like You
The best family sessions leave room to breathe. Nothing forced. Nothing styled within an inch of its life. Just real connection, good light, and space to let it unfold.
