A laid-back coastal wedding with views for days, food to die for, and a couple who couldn’t stop smiling.
Cat and Joel’s wedding at Terindah Estate was exactly the kind of day I love photographing—relaxed, fun, and full of good people, good food, and damn good views. These two are the definition of low-fuss legends. They planned a day that felt true to them from start to finish—no fluff, no overthinking, just good vibes and big love.

From a Tinder swipe to a Central Park proposal
Cat and Joel are a classic Tinder success story. One lucky match turned into a cross-state move when Cat packed up her life in Queensland and moved in with Joel not long after. Fast forward a bit, and they’re sitting in a sunny patch of grass in Central Park, New York—bike helmets off, taking a breather after a questionable choice to spend the morning riding around the park—when Joel popped the question after an hour of chatting. Casual. No big deal. Just getting engaged in the most iconic park in the world.

No theme, no drama—just the good stuff
Cat and Joel didn’t go in with a strict theme or a Pinterest-perfect plan. They picked flowers and outfits they liked, kept things simple, and let the venue and food do the heavy lifting. And honestly? Terindah Estate did not disappoint. That view across the vines to the water always hits, and the whole day had this beautiful balance of celebration and chill.

What mattered most
When I asked them what they were most looking forward to, they summed it up perfectly: “The food and the company… and the getting married part, I guess haha.” And that vibe carried through the whole day. They weren’t caught up in timelines or traditions—they were just there to enjoy every moment. You could feel it during the ceremony, during the epic meal, and definitely on the dance floor.

Their top tip for future couples
Cat and Joel nailed the planning side of things early and it paid off big time. Their advice? “Be generally wealthier and be able to afford a wedding.” (Same, to be honest.) But on a more practical note: “We were organised very early and picked a date that suited our venue and gave us enough time to plan properly. Don’t rush.”
Final thoughts
If you’re looking for wedding photography at Terindah Estate—or anywhere across the Bellarine Peninsula—and want photos that feel like you, not like a photoshoot, I’d love to hear from you. Cat and Joel’s day was exactly what a wedding should be: relaxed, fun, and all about celebrating with your people.
